How do I know what size sliding door hardware I need?
1. Measuring for Single Sliding Door System:
For a single sliding door system, you will need to measure the width of the opening between the jambs, the height of the door, and the depth of the jamb pocket. To measure the width of the opening, use a tape measure and measure the inside edge of one jamb to the inside edge of the other jamb. To measure the height of the door, measure the inside edge of the top jamb to the bottom of the door frame or the bottom of the threshold. To measure the depth of the jamb pocket, measure from the back of the jamb to the face of the door jamb.
2. Measuring for Bypass Sliding Door System:
For a bypass sliding door system, you will need to measure the total width of the opening, the height of the opening, the width of each door, and the thickness of the doors and jamb. To measure the total width of the opening, use a tape measure and measure the inside edge of one jamb to the inside edge of the other jamb. To measure the height of the opening, measure the inside edge of the top jamb to the bottom of the door frame or the bottom of the threshold. To measure the width of each door, measure from the outside edge of one door to the outside edge of the other door. To measure the thickness of the doors and jamb, measure from the face of the door to the face of the jamb.
3. Measuring for Pocket Sliding Door System:
For a pocket sliding door system, you will need to measure the total width of the opening, the height of the opening, the width of the door, and the thickness of the door and jamb. To measure the total width of the opening, use a tape measure and measure the inside edge of one jamb to the inside edge of the other jamb. To measure the height of the opening, measure the inside edge of the top jamb to the bottom of the door frame or the bottom of the threshold. To measure the width of each door, measure from the outside edge of one door to the outside edge of the other door. To measure the thickness of the doors and jamb, measure from the face of the door to the face of the jamb. To measure the distance from the top of the door to the top of the jamb, measure from the top of the door to the top of the jamb.
Once you have accurately measured the width, height, width of the door, thickness of the doors and jamb, and the distance from the top of the door to the top of the jamb for your sliding door system, you can determine the size of the hardware you need. Typically, the hardware will be measured in millimeters and will need to correspond to the measurements of your door. Before purchasing any hardware, make sure to double check the measurements to ensure they are accurate and the hardware you choose will fit your door.

This is a 6mm toughened glass door so is heavy but no problem for the Stainless Steel Sliding Barn Door Hardware Kit CCJH. Smooth glide and easy to install. Its been outside for 4months and no rust developing

This sliding barn door system is ideal for small places. It is one rail, two doors. We used 42" doors to cover the opening. Good quality and all features as promised in the description. Recomended.
I must say that I was a little bit nervous before installing this thinking that it was going to be complicated. Thankfully I was wrong it was super easy to put together and everything ended up aligned and perfect. Looks great at the same time.
I remodeled the walk-in closet by removing the door which was blocking access to cloth racks, removed the old rack hangers, fixed the wall, painted them and then build a new cabinet system with top lighting. I bought a couple different models of these rollers and decided to keep this particular one for the following reasons:
1. Can be made to fit the specific width of my barn door. Other models were based on a bigger wheel that could slide in and outward over a fixed rail. This model does not stick out further and I liked that (less of a trip hazzard)
2. Smaller wheel size looks better then some of the wheels of competitor products that had twice the wheel diameter.
3. It rolls smoothly and has held up for many weeks of usage by now.
I wish my barn door was just a few inches wider but I had limited space to work with. Overall I really like this roller and it is still going strong.
